NEW MOBILE TECHNOLOGIES THAT WILL DISRUPT THE EXISTING ONES
The development of every new technology lays the foundation for the abandonment of an existing technology. E-mails disrupted the postal system, railways disrupted bus travel, and printers disrupted the business for type writers. The same holds true for mobile technology such as the Sony Ericsson Kurara which is rumoured to have a HD video camera. Development of chips that are more powerful, smaller and consume lesser power is likely to be accelerated. These micro chips will replace the existing chips that are bigger in size and less powerful and will combine Wi Fi, Wi Max and 3G onto a single chip. Smaller and more efficient chips will lead to smaller and more powerful mobile devices which are going to be far more efficient. These will be combined with a faster wireless broadband that can be put on the ears. The next disruptive technology can be the wireless USB. These are technologies based on wireless replacements which will eventually make things much easier and convenient for mobile users. It will put an end to USB devices which need to be plugged in. It will enable people to synchronise the data between the desktops and devices wirelessly in an easy manner. However this technology is relevant only in a short range. Wireless USB can be used with a tiny mobile phone to connect it with the keyboard. This technology and its applications are being developed currently and will be seen being put to use on a large scale in a few years. Another technology that we will get to see very soon is that of e paper and foldable display screens. It will be of the nature that if one takes out an e paper from the pocket and unfolds it, he can actually read the Financial Times on that e paper. The image is maintained on this paper without consumption of any power. These will disrupt laptops because an improved e paper can support constantly changing images and can replace the LCDs. This will enable to save the power consumption of laptops and at the same time will be lighter in weight and easier to carry than a laptop. Lets hope that such technological developments help us to make life more comfortable.
