The Apple iPhone

At first, I was skeptical about the iPhone. In fact, I was skeptical about all touch screen mobile phones in general. I guess I just like buttons. You know where you are with buttons. I think with touch screen phones, particularly the ones I’ve tried in the past such as the Samsung offerings, I always found them to be a bit of a gimmick as opposed to having a practical use. Time and time again I’d end up pressing something I didn’t need or finding the screen to be not responsive enough when I wanted to do something quickly. As a result of this, you could say I was more than skeptical when it came to purchasing the Apple iPhone. All I can say is, I was wrong. I am not sure how the iPhone technology works and if I am honest, I don’t particularly want to know the ins and outs but somehow, whatever I press, it seems to know what I want to do. The perfect is example of this is sending texts / sms via the “on screen keyboard”. The technology seems to know which letter I am pressing, despite my large fingers covering a few of the letters at a time. The other good thing about the iPhone, especially for SMS is that it appears to have a fantastic predictive text dictionary that seldom gets the words wrong, even if they do appear as just a bunch of letters in the first place.

Of course, it’s not just the touchscreen technology that makes the iPhone as popular as it is. It is also packed with features such as WiFi and even contains an iPod. The only downside is the camera, it’s awful. Why a phone as big as the iPhone and as technologically advanced cannot have a decent camera I have no idea.
